After a year of student teaching and constantly hearing about no jobs or people are only hiring within districts, I was a little nervous about finding a job. I applied to a TON of jobs and kept my fingers crossed but didn't hear back from anyone for a week or so. Then, I got a call from a principal in a district I REALLY wanted to work in for an interview. I practiced interview questions thanks to the Ace Your Teacher Interview book and got a new outfit for the interview.
I went to the interview and felt calm and confident. Three days later the principal called and I GOT THE JOB!! I'm going to be teaching either first grade or kindergarten depending on the enrollment numbers at the school. I am so excited about starting my career and what this school year has to offer!!
